The Founder

Hi. I'm Jules.

I've spent my career in roles that don't fit neatly into a resume box — service advising at dealerships, assembly and mechanical work at one of the biggest manufacturers in the country. Hands-on, customer-facing, high-stakes work that required more skill, patience, and problem-solving than most office jobs I've heard described.

When I decided I was done trading my body and schedule for a paycheck, I hit a wall. Not because I wasn't qualified. But because nobody taught me how to translate what I knew into language that remote employers recognized.

"I'd been doing customer escalation management for years — I just called it 'dealing with a screaming customer at the service desk.' Turns out those are the same thing. You just have to know how to say it."

I spent weeks confused, overwhelmed, and applying to things I never heard back from. So I built NextShift. Not because I had it figured out — but because I was tired of figuring it out alone, and I knew I wasn't the only one.

I'm still on this journey. Figuring it out alongside the people using this tool. No guru energy, no "I made it so you can too." Just a real system built by someone who needed it.

What we stand for.

01

Honest over polished

We don't pretend to have it all figured out. We tell you what we know, what we're working on, and what we don't know yet. You deserve that.

02

Practical over inspirational

You don't need another post about "unlocking your potential." You need to know what to put in the skills section of a resume. We do that.

03

Built for the transition, not after it

Most career tools are built for people who already have white-collar experience. We're built for the messy middle — when you're leaving one world and haven't landed in the next.
